Concentric butterfly valve is widely used in industrial fields such as water treatment. They have some advantages: light weight, small size, easy installation and low cost. However, due to its design, its application in many cases has been limited, and then eccentric butterfly valve has come in handy. Below are some basic differences between concentric butterfly valve and eccentric butterfly valve.
1.Appearance
Concentric butterfly valve and eccentric butterfly valve can also be easily distinguished from the appearance. Typically, concentric butterfly valve has an integral rubber seat and a simple disc. Eccentric butterfly valve does not have such a rubber seat. Its seat is welded to the upper metal ring of the valve seat or the same material as the body, the disc is also completely different in design, it has a sealing ring and a fastening ring.
2. Pressure
Usually, concentric butterfly valve can only achieve the pressures of 150 LB / PN25, but eccentric butterfly valve can be as high as 600 LB / PN100 or higher.
3. Temperature
Due to different design of the sealing structure, concentric rubber seat can not withstand high temperature, because its seat is rubber or fluoroplastic, but eccentric butterfly valve can be designed as a multi-layer metal seal to adapt to high temperature environment.
