Process cycle

1 Feeding, the suspension is fed from the storage tank to the rotating basket at full speed.
2 Removal of the mother liquor, which is discharged from the solids by means of a filter element (usually a filter cloth) under the influence of centrifugal force. The solids are collected in the basket as "cake".
3 Washing, if required to remove traces of mother liquor, washing facilities can be provided to thoroughly wash the solids during the separation process.
4 Re-drying, where the solids are allowed to dry further after washing or other treatment.
5 Discharge, where the solids are "stripped" by a full basket width scraper and discharged through a chute in the front cover of the machine or conveyed by a discharge screw.
