Another common way people use clear plant saucers is placing them inside decorative planters to turn them into cachepots. Cachepots are decorative planters that don’t have drainage holes. You’re supposed to put less decorative planters that have drainage holes inside them. However, many people find gorgeous planters that look like cachepots, but need to keep their plants in other planters to keep their plants healthy. In these cases, you can line the bottom of a planter with a plastic saucer to turn it into a cache pot.
Ceramic, on the other hand, may need some extra protection to prevent water damage. You should still place them underneath the planters to help catch extra water. However, because they’re more prone to condensation, you want to make sure there’s also something waterproof underneath the saucer.
