I have a screen ripped in the window of my cabin bathroom and another that the cat shredded in my travel trailer. I was not looking forward to uninstalling these, and driving the frames an hour each way to the builder's supply shop with a qualified repair person. This screen looks like it will more than do the job, so I will try to see if I can re-learn how to repair screen myself.
This is a VERY dark and fine screen, noticeably different from lighter and coarser variations. Given the amount of dust and pollen in the air, I'll be especially looking to see how it performs in the bathroom window, and it looks like a sufficient quantity to meet any repair needs for the foreseeable future.
UPDATE: I was easily able to remove the existing spline and ripped screen in the door of my travel trailer. I found a video online on how to use blue tape to hang the screen in the needed opening, which I did, and proceeded to push the spline back in with a tool I had on hand. The trickiest part was cutting the screen, I'm not sure if my utility knife blade wasn't sharp enough (but it looked OK), but it seemed like the screen wanted to shred and fuzz up vs. cut cleanly.
Nonetheless, the screen is in and nicely taut, and looks much finer in terms of keeping out dust and insects than the original.
SUGGESTION for MANUFACTURER: Rework the instructions to focus closely on current Method C, splined windows, and provide more accurate English terminology ("spline" instead of "hide strip," etc.) and detail for purchasers. The provided methods A and B using hook-and-loop tape I don't think are commonly used in the U.S.
