Mask model explanation

N95 mask: made of high-efficiency electrostatic filter cotton and melt-blown non-woven material to effectively filter non-oil particles with a filtration rate of more than 95%. N95 masks are one of the nine types of particle masks certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The "N" refers to non-oily particles; "95" refers to a filtration efficiency of 95%. N99 masks have a filtration efficiency of 99%. N95 masks have a filtration rate of >95% for germs of 0.3 μm in the air.

Is the higher the grade of the mask the better?

1、N95 is divided into two types with or without an exhalation valve. For people suffering from chronic respiratory disease, heart disease, or other diseases with symptoms of breathing difficulties, using an N95 respirator may make it more difficult for the wearer to breathe, so using N95 masks with an exhalation valve can make their exhalation easier and help reduce heat accumulation. The presence or absence of an exhalation valve does not affect the respiratory protection of the wearer. Simply put, an N95 with an exhalation valve protects the wearer, but not those around them. If you are a virus carrier, please use N95 without an exhalation valve, do not spread the virus.

The higher the protection level, the greater the breathing resistance of the mask, the poorer the experience of wearing it, and the comfort will be reduced. When people wear the mask, the mask has a certain resistance to airflow when inhaling, and when the resistance to inhaling is too large, people will feel dizzy, have chest tightness, and other discomfort. The difference in body quality, the feeling of comfort will be different. Generally speaking, you can choose an N95 mask.

3, KN95 is one of the levels specified in Chinese standard GB2626-2006, N95 is one of the levels specified in American standard 42 CFR 84. The technical requirements and test methods of these two levels are basically the same, and the filtration efficiency reaches 95% under the corresponding standard, so there is no difference between KN95 and N95 in terms of the use effect.

Suggestions for wearing masks

N95 mask = medical protective mask > medical surgical mask > ordinary medical mask

Medical-surgical masks and medical protective masks can block the pollution caused by blood and body fluid spraying. If you need to block the pollution of airborne particles and pathogenic microorganisms, please choose to wear medical protective masks. For prevention of new pneumonia, experts recommend the public to wear - medical surgical masks or N95 masks! Among them, medical-surgical masks are generally sold in pharmacies, and N95 masks can currently only be purchased in certain specialty drug stores or medical device companies. For the general public, if they go to public places and do not come into contact with patients, wearing a medical-surgical mask is sufficient and does not require excessive protection. If you will be in contact with patients, you should wear an anti-biological N95 mask. The commonly used N95 masks are actually divided into two types: an anti-biological mask (blue-green), model 1860 or 9132; and a dust mask (white), model 8210.
