Vertical Centrifugal Sump Pump
Vertical Sump Pump. High Head Centrifugal Pump.
This was an interesting operation. My first time cementing new runs of PVC. Dave helped me out a lot. We had a great time. You can see the index marks we made with a sharpie on the joints.
We "met in the middle", i.e. fashioned the 1-1/4" ---> 1-1/2" expansion, then the horizontal and elbow. Then dry fit the wye and check valves, did a measurement for the vertical pipes, got everything dry fit and the pumps arranged, then made the index marks, pulled everything out and cemented it all together. Whee!
Note that when Dave tightened the hose clamps on the check valves, he aligned them for easy removal from the front. Also, I wanted to install the check valves at the exact same height. Dave suggested staggering them so that one would be easy to remove without interference from the other.
Inner side wall form and vertical re-bar at "staff parking" entrance. Wood frame is for location of library roof drain inlet. The blue hose in foreground is from sump pump in old storm drain.
