Ideas for a deep corner in a reach in closet : HomeImprovement

corner closet designs

I have a reach in closet that is 86” wide x 24” deep, but the closet only has a 59” opening. The opening has standard bypass doors. The result is a 27” blind corner that I’m having trouble utilizing. I’ve seen some people turn these into quasi walk in closets, hanging a bar or shelves across the blind section. That seems to be wash. I’d gain the 24” to hang cloths and store stuff, but I’d lose 24” because I’d have to leave space for people to walk in. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar situation and would have ideas about how I could better utilize this space.

The budget is flexible. I can hang new doors, build cabinet, install lights. But I’d rather not open the wall up to provide a larger opening. That would limit the bedroom in other ways.
