What is Fiber Reinforced Panels (FRP)

Definition of Fiber Reinforced Panels (FRP) in Construction

Similar to fiber cement panels, these specialized panels are used in various locations on a construction project. Dependent upon the usage, the panels are available in various thicknesses and sizes. The panel is made up of a synthetic combination of fiberglass strands and synthetic resin that is heated and processed into large thin panels. These panels are excellent surfaces for restaurant and eating areas, as well as kitchens and bathrooms. Used commercially in most restaurants, grocery stores, and areas that requires a sterile and clean environment or is mandated by the Health Department. Special accessories are available such as corner, edge, mid-span and specialized pieces available to ensure a complete system. The panels can be field cut and custom fitted to accommodate electrical outlets, switches, etc. In most cases, the panel is glued to the substrate with a special glue that is supplied by accommodate the chemical characteristics of the fiber reinforced panels ( FRP ).
