THAILAND: Thai Ethoxylate Company Limited, a joint venture between Cognis Thailand Limited and PTT Chemical Public Company Limited, inaugurated a new facility in Rayong, Thailand, that will produce fatty alcohol ethoxylates mainly for customers in the home and personal care industries. This new plant will strengthen the company’s position as a leading producer of fatty alcohol ethoxylates helping to meet global demands.
Fatty alcohol ethoxylates are used as a key ingredient as well as intermediates in the manufacture of various personal and home care products, including shampoos, shower creams, detergents, dish washing liquids and cleaning agents.
The Thai Ethoxylate plant is based in Rayong, Southeast of Bangkok, and is very close to a deep-sea port. Conveniently located in South East Asia for its known accessibility to raw materials, ship and road links make it easy for the company to source these from the region. Ethylene oxide is obtained from the plant of TOC Glycol, a subsidiary of PTT Chemical Public Company Limited.
