Some will challenge this, but, if you read the labels of the name brand, it describes the main chemical as Di-ammonium sulfate. The prefix "Di" in Di-ammonium simply means 2. Ironically, Green to Clean is a 2 pound Di-ammonium sulfate, more accurately, two pounds of ammonium sulfate per treatment for up to 20,000 gallons. Being consumers, some of us are name brand buyers, some shop and try saving money. The name brands you normally are paying for a cool lable and packaging, where, if you just read the ingredients and do a bit of homework, and a little math to compare the price per pound along with it's equal effectiveness when used as directed; $26 for a name brand? Or, substantially less for more with the same results you expect?
In our pools case, we had been away a couple weeks camping and came home to a dark green algae bloom. Draining was considered as it was bad. It did take two treatments of this product measured for our pools capacity. After which is being treated for the cloudy, now dead algae and other contaminants and is gradually clearing as expected. So it works with the actual pool products as well. I'm the first to always swim in the water. I have grandkids and dogs and kids all that enjoy this pool. I do not compromise when it comes to water quality for them. But I also won't fall for the cool labels save the information they provide. My only minor concern is how long it takes to clear the water up after treatment. Kids wanna swim and it's hot.
Note: the picture shows the pool two days after treatment with 28 ounces of this product. The water was a swamp green. I do one good sweep before the picture. This was again, two days ago.
