Fans of CORE Nutritionals’ founder Doug Miller have long known that he’s a man who’s always put health in the forefront — for himself, for his customers, and for his family. We’ve recently become fascinated with tributyrin, which is a variant of butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid that supplies the digestive tract with fuel that improves healthy colon function and far more. It can fortify intestinal walls, help fight disease, facilitate electrolyte absorption, and has anti-obesity, anti-inflammatory effects.
The probiotic blend is fully disclosed and uses multiple families with multiple strains, providing an incredibly well-rounded batch of healthy bacteria to facilitate excellent gut health.
Sunfiber promotes healthy digestive support without the bloating or gas you get with other fibers, and can even reduce the glycemic index of other foods you’re eating, as it helps blunt postprandial insulin spikes.
Finally, CORE customers are also no stranger to digestive enzymes, which are added to many of their protein powders. These enzymes will aid in the digestion of different types of foods, including proteins (from protease), lactose / milk sugars (from lactase), starches / carbs (from amylase), and fats (from lipase).

Core SOOTHE is the brand’s anti-inflammatory supplement that is once again dosed in several capsules – six to be taken throughout the day. This one brings back one of our favorite ingredients from the 2000s, that disappeared from the scene for no good reason whatsoever:
The three things to note are the return of cissus quadrangularis, the huge doses, and the strong standardizations!
It’s been far too long since we’ve written about cissus, which is great at healing injuries (including injured tendons and ligaments) and even has research demonstrating faster broken bone healing! The ingredient needs high doses yet doesn’t taste good, which is possibly why it disappeared from the scene, but we truly believe it’s worth it – especially when you can split Core SOOTHE up into three capsule doses 2x/day.
Meanwhile, boswellia is consistently used as a potent anti-inflammatory ingredient used to combat issues ranging from allergies to osteoarthritis. We’ve always loved the ingredient, but don’t normally see it dosed this high.
The same goes for curcumin, which has more benefits than can be counted, but often suffers from low dosing and/or poor bioavailability. Both of those problems are resolved here by CORE, who dosed it twice as high as most companies, and then added Bioperine black pepper extract, which has been shown to improve curcumin’s bioavailability by 2000%!
Adding icing on the cake, we have a strong ginger extract, which is normally used as a dietary and GI soothing supplement, but has anti-inflammatory effects of its own that can help reduce muscle pain.
Finally, Phyto-C is added to yield not just natural antioxidant-rich sources of vitamin C, but supporting polyphenols and flavonoids as well.

Next, things get a bit more serious, focusing on cardiovascular health in Core HEART. After kicking things off with a properly-dosed Vitamin D3 / K2 / Zinc combination, CORE hits numerous parts of the cardiovascular system with yet another six capsule supplement.
Blood flow improvements come from hawthorn berry and curcumin (which is still well-dosed at 500 milligrams), while lipid level improvements are driven by bergamot and red yeast rice.
One of our favorite immunity ingredients of the year is included in olive leaf extract, but the multi-faceted plant extract is really here for oleuropein’s prevention of LDL oxidation. It serves many benefits, and was in Core POISE for women’s health as well (where we discussed it in terms of thyroid health).
But it’s not a heart health supplement without the powerful antioxidant coenzyme Q10, which is cardioprotective by preventing lipid peroxidation, improves endothelial function, can limit blood clotting, and can also reduce blood pressure.
Once again it’s amplified with Bioperine black pepper extract, and we have a cardiovascular health supplement that’s very well-rounded and likely provides some immunity protection while we’re at it.
