New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson shared a video to his Instagram story (@zachwilson) of what appears to be his own customized Jeep. Painted black on the outside and accented with sharp green lighting on the inside, it gives off a vibe that is highly reminiscent of the Jets’ “Stealth Black” uniforms.

I’m not sure if Wilson had the Stealth Black uniforms in mind when coming up with this design, but if he did, it’s no wonder he chose that particular set as his inspiration out of all the Jets’ uniform combinations. He and the Jets have some good memories while decked out in black.
Wilson was impressive when wearing the Jets’ black uniforms during his rookie season. He wore the uniform set twice – once against the Philadelphia Eagles and once against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In those two games, Wilson produced five touchdowns (more than a third of his season total) and recorded some of his most memorable highlights of the season.

While Wilson did not play in the game, the Jets also picked up one of their most impressive wins in recent memory while wearing their black uniforms.
Led by backup Mike White, the Jets defeated the future AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 34-31 on Halloween afternoon, dressed appropriately for the holiday with their black uniforms contrasting Cincinnati’s signature orange.
The Stealth Black uniforms have been a good-luck charm for the Jets. New York is 4-4 (.500) when wearing Stealth Black since the uniform set was introduced in 2019. In all other games over that span, they’re 9-32 (.220).
In particular, the Jets have been excellent when wearing Stealth Black during the daytime, going 4-1. They’re 0-3 when wearing it at night.
You know we’re in a dead period of the offseason when we’re sitting here talking about a team’s record based on its uniform set. But hang in there, folks – it’ll be over soon. Just seven days remain until the NFL Scouting Combine begins on March 1. Only 20 days remain until March 14, when the NFL’s legal tampering period opens and teams can begin to negotiate with free agents.
