In 1998, two Connecticut-bred brothers Shep and Ian Murray came together to create Vineyard Vines. The two were deep into that “coastal lifestyle” in Martha’s Vineyard, when they decided to quit their corporate jobs and focus on “the good life”- “trading their
business suits for bathing suits and making neckties so they no longer had to wear them.” The two opened credit cards to bring their vision to life, and it wasn’t long before their “out of a backpack” business had taken off and expanded across the country!
